He's been a staple of the Georgia SigForum Shoots for many, many years.

He was an animal control officer with the Clayton County Police Department. He was a kind man, good man.

A long time ago, Vero started an adoption program here in the forum, until his employer became suspicious and thought he might be selling animals, which was completely untrue. It shows you how little they (whoever "they" were) really knew about this kind man. He was doing it to place animals in homes, and I think it may have even cost him a bit personally.

I'm truly saddened by this unexpected news.

He told me once that he felt a bit out of place in the forum, since it looked like we're all kinda rich, what with all our toys.

I told him I could understand why he might feel that way, but that he was wrong and that he should always feel welcome here. The common man inhabits this forum, and a common man runs it.

What a shock it is to read he's gone. I never met him but his kindness was evident in his posts. What a loss his passing is on a number of levels.
