KN95 Masks Available At This Moment
Major Surplus has KN95 facemasks in stock, a 10-pack for $35. The email I received stated Buy 2 boxes and get free 2-day shipping.

I don't know much about them, but google shows there is some difference between KN95 andN95.

I didn't have any, then I was rummaging around in my garage workshop and found some old, at least 5 years old, N95 masks that probably came from Home Depot or Lowes or Ace Hardware. Turns out they had deteriorated in the hot summer heat and the elastic bands broke.

I ordered a box of these, I hope they're good quality, surely they are better than what I have now.

Here is a link

If you zoom in close enough on the photo, the manufacturer name says Hongjie so I'll give you 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count Wink

BTW, KN95 is a Chinese standard. Here is a filtration comparison from 3M.

The ad does state display box may vary.

I'd gladly pay for any made in the USA or Canada, for any semi reasonable to not quite crazy price, but good luck finding any at all right now from USA or anywhere.

What are you going to do when you believe you need some?

Unobtainium.

If anyone can tell me where to get some American made ones, please tell me, I have my credit card in hand.

This North / Honeywell 7140N95 used to be the backup to my backup to my backup. As well as one I'd slip on for a quick table-saw cut in the basement or give to a worker on a job before I blasted open an 1890s plaster and horsehair wall. Dusty and thirsty work, indeed. When in stock, about $17 for ten. I use my last one in and out of stores when I do not want to look like HazMatMan in my full-blown gear. My second-to-last-one has a broken band. I may have bought the box 15 years ago, so they'll get a pass.

These are probably made in Mexico. They'll be back in stock in a few months. I'll buy more over the summer.

Now the professionals are saying the mask does not protect the wearer, but protects others. So I may go to a Jesse James style color-coordinated kerchief for formal occasions.

KN95 is a chinese knock off which hospitals etc won't use.

This is a scammers paradise so be cautious.

china was selling Used masks to their own people- I can't imagine what they're shipping to the rest of the world.

Yea, that was my first question, too. Many places here have rejected the Chinese crap masks; contamination, poor specs, etc.

It's 'surplus' all right. Roll Eyes

From what I’ve read, KN95 is just the equivalent Chinese standard for a mask that filters at least 95% of particles 3 micron in diameter, so it’s not really a knockoff. Different countries call their standard for the same thing by different names.

If it’s a mask actually made to KN95 standards, it’s probably generally OK. The main risk IMHO is that it’s a fake knockoff and not made to the standard. Probably a large number of Chinese companies popping up making fake masks to sell to gullible Westerners. The fact that the box they show is entirely in English makes me think these are made specifically to sell overseas, not for use in China.

Knockoffs are the big concern.

There is no fucking way I’d trust a Chinese mask.

if I recall, Canada (bless their hearts) in an attempt to fight the Chinese flu (Sweet and Sour Sicken) purchased a huge quantity of these masks from the Chinese and they were all junk and worthless - much like most everything the Chinese make

I don't think they got their money back either

Where?

I'm a metal working tools distributor and I supply these for my customers. My source gets me about 3 cases per month to continue to do so. Unfortunately I need to keep what I have to stay in the good graces of those who provide me a living but if I get ahead I'll offer them up to those on this thread that ask. Smile
