So the news media are full of accounts about this "prime time address" this Thursday night to the nation. All of the accounts call the speech as a "prime time address." The phrase "prime time" clearly is a reference to television. What is not clear to me is whether the regular broadcast networks (not the news channels) will be broadcasting the speech. This will clearly be a 100% political speech, not an address to the nation about a national tragedy (like 9/11.) (Of course Biden himself is a national tragedy, but I digress.)

So if the networks are going to carry the speech, will the Republicans be afforded equal time? If they are, will the Republicans select someone who can give a devastating critical speech tearing apart Biden's record, while at the same time staying away from the things that will alienate swing voters, moderates and independents that we need to be successful in the midterms.
