A fact about the Volvo XC90 that nobody here has mentioned: there has never, ever, in the history of the XC90, been a reported fatality of one of its occupants. It is an absurdly safe vehicle. ****************************** May our caskets be made of hundred-year oak, and may we plant those trees tomorrow.

Yea, that is one of those marketing lies that keeps getting repeated but it’s not true. People have absolutely died in Volvo XC90 crashes. They are amazingly well made, designed, and safe. They ain’t magic. That was a simple search. There are more. https://www.wcvb.com/article/b...sh-in-saugus/8202926

All this talk about Volvo's safety -- we had a 1994 Volvo 940. A friend of ours owned a few body / collision repair shops in the area, and they re-built a lot of wrecks. Whenever the four of us (him, me, and our wives) would go out for dinner together, he would always say, "Let's go in the safe car," referring to our Volvo. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Looks like it does remain true for the UK Market. I didn’t notice that disclaimer before. In any event, it’s a very safe vehicle. ****************************** May our caskets be made of hundred-year oak, and may we plant those trees tomorrow.

Yes it’s a safe vehicle. It is also an often repeated untruth. Do you drive in the UK market? No? Then who gives a shit? Americans on American roads have died and will continue to die in these cars. Which are safe. Not magical though. I really dislike the repetition of bullshit especially when it is extremely self serving bullshit (Volvo) meant to sell product through an outright lie. Not directed at you but directed at Volvo and car media which is perfectly ok with keeping this lie going.
