The law and order in me wants him severely punished......The Gumball Rally in me says he should have planned for a fuel pit stop. You know most cops in the pursuit were thinking, "wow, I wish I could drive a performance car like that. Instead I have the under maintained rattle trap that tops out at 80mph."

I remember an old Top Gear where Clarkson was driving a Mercedes AMG Black and said it's top speed was 240mph but at that speed you only had enough gas for about 10 minutes. Of course at that speed the tires would only last about 8 minutes.

Yeah, if that had been a Demon, he could have phoned ahead for pit stops and still be going.

110, hell, he probably wasn't even outta 3rd gear. Amazing performance. Too bad he couldn't just have enjoyed it legally on a fun track somewhere.

Reporters are idiots.

A couple of them refer to it as a Charger. Clearly a Challenger.

I have to admit... driving that car looked like a lot of fun.

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

TV News helicopter. But it wasn't by much. They caught back up to him.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The driver who memorably led authorities in a high-speed chase behind the wheel of a stolen Dodge Challenger Hellcat muscle car has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Mohmed Ahmed Abu-Shlieba, 25, pleaded guilty to evading arrest stemming from the October 2017 chase, which started in Houston and wound up in a cow pasture two counties away in Jefferson County.

Don't know but it's pretty funny... vid was from April '18. News station got a new "faster" chopper ~one year later Big Grin guess they didn't want to suffer through that embarrassment again.

Snip:
From May '19...
ABC13 has upgraded its eye in the sky.
The brand new SkyEye13 is faster, and more high-tech than any news helicopter in the area.

Collecting dust.

Actually a Hellcat has a much higher top speed than a Demon. The Demon is electronically governed at 168 mph because it comes with drag radials from the factory that are not designed for sustained high speeds.

The driver could've gotten away with it if he had a better lawyer. There's no way they could prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was indeed the driver. Nobody physically saw him get out of the drivers seat, and it's doubtful that any of the footage was clear enough to prove it was him with the tinted windows.

When I bought my Jeep Gladiator earlier this year, the dealer had a Hellcat on the showroom floor. Sticker price was 93K..thats 93 thousand dollars! My salesman said they sell a few of them, mostly to the Native Americans who get stipends from the Casino money.

And I thought I overpaid for my Gladiator!
