my national news was making the fires second place news,(after an impeachment inquiry update). America didn't react well to that circus and then msm went back to fires and mass shootings. but when the "mass shootings" turned out to be murder suicide, they stopped pushing that. I've not heard any news about gaining control of the fires, so I'm thinking it's still burnin.

California is always on fire, just depends on how bad on any given day. Last time I was out there (near Travis AFB) there was random fires on the side of the highway with no body even fighting them, road detours due to fire, and smoke in the air at most times. Heck all of my wedding white stuff was covered in ashes inside of a event tent.

That place is nuts. I'm not sure there's ever a point where there is not at least one major fire going.

Rained last night. Hailed today. Dumped 3ft of snow in the mountains.

There's a fire burning around the Central Coast near Santa Barbara. That area either gets the first of the storms or, last since the Sierra Madre Mtn's run East-West, every other mtn range run North-South.

Much of the state has gotten dumped on with a couple of storms, I-50 was closed as a trailer with cattle overturned in slushy/semi-frozen conditions, cattle was scattered and wandering about the scene.

If California burned down and the news didn't report it, would anyone care?

Seasonal earthquakes? Representative Hank Johnson's intelligence committee will be reporting this as fact next month. *hic*.

After the earthquakes, the entire Central Valley will subside 40', the Pacific will rush in via San Francisco Bay, and an inland sea will return to its rightful place. Barren Sierra Nevada foothills will become coveted oceanfront properties.
