sig operatorHope you had a great Fourth of July, I did
Sitting on a hill, by the fire pit, overlooking the town waiting for full dark. Kids and adults making smores. Dogs under foot waiting and hoping for mistakes. We shot the small black powder cannon, a few firecrackers, and the kids lit sparklers.
The large fireworks in town started. I totally lost it when my 3 year old grand niece asked everyone to help her sing Happy Birthday America.

PCWyomingWatched the 2 hour Independence Day parade.
Had kids and grandkids over for a BBQ.
Kids and grandkids played tag, jumped on trampoline, played with squirt guns.
Watched fireworks that night.
Had a great day.

MikeinNCWe went to the 100 anniversary of the Belton TX Independence Parade. The guy who invited us also invited us to a family gathering. We had a great time, met some great people- I know we made the right choice to leave NC and these Texans are making it hard to not like the place.

sjtillOur “Fourth” celebration was early with patriotic music concerts by the San Diego Symphony and my San Diego Master Chorale, followed by fireworks.
July 4th itself I spent in the Emergency Department at Kaiser.

In the ER? As a doctor or a patient? Don't leave us hanging like that!
My Fourth was fairly unexciting. One of my indoor cats is sick, but recovering. I watched about half of the President's speech on TV and in the evening watched one of the local fireworks shows on TV, going outside occasionally to hear the sounds of nearby celetration.
Today I drove to Wylie to pick up a gun I'd bought on-line that was at a dealer there. It's an ATI GI45 1911 and it looks to be very nice (very stiff!). This was my 3rd usage of that dealer and I like him.
Goldie (the sick cat) is moving around more--I think she'll be OK soon.

AnubismpWorks been stressing me out and everything else has been nuts so we packed up and went on a road trip. Once we got here, I got hammered and grilled some perfect steaks. Everyone elses words not mine on the steaks, so yeah it was pretty good.

tatortoddI had a nice 4th. Slept in and cooked bacon & eggs. Then I put a pork shoulder on the smoker and it turned out amazing (no pics though). Binge watched some Netflix.
At dark, my neighbors and I got together in the cul-d-sac. Kids ran around with sparklers and the adults lit off bigger fireworks. People in the cul-d-sac at the other end of the street must have had a $1000 worth of fireworks and it was fun to watch.
Only downside was a little bastard from down the street with absentee parents intentionally tried to set my lawn on fire with a sparkler. He actually took a lit sparkler and was holding it to the grass when I caught him. He seemed to like the attention of being yelled at. I like kids but cannot stand parents that don't parent.
