I was at a game in Austin, against UCLA IIRC, Texas trailing, very late 4th quarter, 4th and long, QB Philips tosses a “wounded duck” to Cotton Speyer for a TD, Texas wins, a coaches wife in the stands had a heart attack and died right there. Rolling out to pass was not something Texas did very often in those Royal days. Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
