I get the impression that this guy could clear the room if need be - maybe former military, he looks like he's seen much worse and is totally unconcerned with the chaos around him. Why let a few knuckleheads ruin a good meal? I get it from his point of view - I've seen better fights on kindergarten playgrounds. Have any of those guys ever thrown a punch before? “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Holy crap, none of those idiots knew how to throw a punch. It was like watching 5 year-olds during recess. Jim ^^^^^^ Beat me to it by seconds. ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

I was waiting for the morons to each take off a shoe and try to slap one another with it ...let him who has no sword sell his robe and buy one. Luke 22:35-36 NAV "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves." Matthew 10:16 NASV

Reading the title and I came in thinking no way I'm out of there before someone loses their cool and pulls a gun and things go from bad to worse and you could get caught in the crossfire. Then after watching the fight for ten seconds you can see it's a bunch of skinny jean vegans who have only gotten in a fight when they got shorted Kale at Whole Paycheck. I would have sat and watched at that point.

Not sure what was funnier, his total calmness or their inability to throw one punch. Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.

Would a good palm strike to an ear have counted as a punch?

Not in my day or neighborhood. I didn't get in many fights as a youth, but I sure as hell knew how to throw a punch. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

Just for the hell of it |
That wasn't a fight. A bunch of pushing and a few arms swinging. I wouldn't call any of those punches. So funny to watch people want to fight that have no idea how. Ya, that guy really didn't care. _____________________________________ Because in the end, you won’t remember the time you spent working in the office or mowing your lawn. His diet consists of black coffee, and sarcasm. |
He kept his eyes open and watching them for most of the fight, obviously prepared to deal with it if needed. Only when it became clear there was no real danger (no wanton violence or weapons) did he actually resume eating. He also did the right thing not interfering in strangers' mutual combat when there is no clear aggressor.

I kept thinking this was Russia or, another Slavic country, where fighting is, a bit more common and the calm diner enjoying his dinner was enjoying the show given it wasn't unusual.

I can actually understand his composure. He did not see a threat to himself and continued doing what he was doing. A number of years ago, at a local gun show that had a food court, I was eating my barbecue sandwiches when another man came to talk with some friends at another table. He was showing off his 1911 pistol when it went off, the bullet hit the ground under the table between us and bounced over my head, ricocheting around and eventually coming to rest about 10 feet from me. He was, of course, immediately mobbed by security personnel. I examined myself for any new holes, and, finding none, just resumed eating. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth
