One of the best mattress threads of 2017 had a recommendation for the forum The Mattress Underground. This is so much better than reading ratings on Amazon, Costco, etc. as they actually break down the layers and their quality. Not a big deal if you're 150 lbs, but a huge deal if you're over 200 lbs. The link above is specifically for their bed in a box (do yourself a favor and spend the time reading), and if you're over 200 lbs make sure it says "suitable for any weight range." For the OP, you'll see that Casper is nothing special with its 1.5 lb support layer. A word of caution, I'm normally an Amazon fan, but in this case I'm going to recommend against Amazon. Amazon's policy is that their warranty supersedes the manufacturer's warranty and most of the bed in the box mattress companies have a 90 or 100 day trial period if you buy direct, but if you buy from Amazon it's 30 days. I ended up going with Sedona Sleep's Base Mattress and Topper Combination. Actually have a different density of talalay latex on each side of the bed (can be used for his/hers or back / side). I've had it since December and I'm very happy. My base is from Costco and it's a Sleep Science Split King Adjustable Base. I like sitting up to read and watch TV. I fall asleep most nights in the zero gravity position, and sometime in the middle of the night hit the flat button to side sleep the remainder of the night. Like the mattress, I've had it 6 months and I'm very happy. One thing that surprised me is that Costco's white glove service is a division of Schneider National (the trucking company). We have three Casper mattresses - the middle model, "The Casper". Have had one for 3.5 years, the other two are about 6 months old. All are EXCELLENT, would strongly recommend. Casper has a 100 day no questions asked return policy - I'd recommend giving it a shot, you have nothing to lose!

Better Than I Deserve! |
My 19 year old daughter has slept on her Casper for about 1.5 years and really likes it. ____________________________ NRA Benefactor Life Member GOA Life Member Arizona Citizens Defense League Life Member

I purchased one a week ago, and I have only a few nights on it now. It is working for me, but my last mattress was a wreck, so I am not too fussy. I like that fact that it was in the box at Target. I put it in the shopping cart. I loaded it into the hatchback. (Yes, after paying for it.) I used a hand truck to wheel it into the house. Convenient. There was no waiting around for delivery, which is a big fat time suck. I don't expect it to last 10 years, but if I can get half that time out of it, I will be happy with the purchase. The main thing is not having to wait for a delivery. It is a big plus for me.
