Well, now you guys have done it. I have a pair of Ariat cowboy boots but with leather soles, so not great for mud. I'm looking at Ariat and Cody James pull-ons with non-slip soles. Both look pretty good. I need to head to Boot Barn to try them on though. Not going to risk Amazon with this as fit is super important. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

And sizing with those types of boots, as I'm sure your aware, can vary by manufacturer.

Indeed, which is why I'm looking for a brick-and-mortar store and not buying online. I need to try them on, with my semi-custom orthotics installed. Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

No self respectin Mainer should be without a good set of slip on Duck Boots.... Good in snow, mud, cow shit, horse shit, water, and they stay warm in the winter, no tie'n up either. These were my go to when working horse farms in KY during high school and college.. Link Duck Boots.

A mere 2 Benjamins. Lucky to get off so cheap hereabouts. Now to convince the Mrs. I need them--especially now the rain is probably over for the year. ![]() ![]() As for the slip-on Maine Duck Boots. Look great, but they're also "slip-off" Duck Boots; in our adobe soil in the Sacramento Valley, you'd go home stocking footed for sure. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"

I have had a couple pair of Ariats and like them just fine. I have since found Redbacks and they are great. So comfortable, great traction, easy on and easy off without your foot sliding all around. They hold up very well. I work on the car, mow the grass, tend the garden, any work pretty much gets done in them. Made in Australia and right around the $200 mark. https://www.redbackboots.com/c...oducts/great-barrier ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. I was actually referring to sjtill with his cowboy boot style. But that prompted me to actually click your Ariat link and I saw the pull on style that you're actually referencing. Have you seen these? Brunt is a relatively new boot manufacturer, and I have a pair of these and they're very comfortable and seem to be holding up well. They are sold at some Maine retailers as well so you may be able to try them on in person. And you can get them with or without a composite toe. https://bruntworkwear.com/prod...riant=45031967326366

I've got both. The rubber soled Ariats are a bit more all-day comfortable, but they're a shorter shank which i don't like as much. They also took more time to break in, compared to my other pair. They're tighter at the top/front of the ankle. I still need to use the pull loops on these, they're not just a 'step in' The short shank, rubber soled have a glossier leather, my other pair is more of a matte leather & are easier on/off.
