If you're in the woods you can't kill them fast enough. It's a waste of time. Even in my wooded suburban neighborhood one person can't do it. I used to keep a Have-a-Heart trap loaded with peanut butter and I'd catch 3-4 a day for months. I'd relocate them fare enough away where I know there was no possibility of them finding their way back (15+miles) It never ended so I just gave up and put safflower seeds in my bird feeder and they just don't come around any more. Not the birds favorites, but most song birds will feed on them.

Yooper, I’ve been seriously tempted to make that and deploy it. My only issue is potential for burning down the house. I also don’t have a rat/mouse problem indoors. There are plenty of desert rats outside, but there are also other critters and neighborhood pets I wouldn’t want to find it.

But yeah, it’s pretty cool in theory.

We've relocated 4 squirrels in the past month to a nice little place in the country. We are using a live trap and baiting it with peanut butter.

Yes sir.

My brother's total for the first season was 120; for the second was 101; 3rd was lower 70s; the last year virtually zero. Yes, some days was multiples.

Also, after seeing his success the 2nd season, he showed others in the neighborhood his tricks.

Yes, there is a ride involved. He's retired & enjoyed the outing.

My 82 year old neighbor did the same. He told me that if the squirrels looked familiar at Sams club, they were transplants from his yard.

At my house, my FIL relocates them. Bait is birdseed. Be aware that if your locality has a season on squirrel, you may be in violation of F&G laws if you kill them out of season, unless they are damaging something. Check with the F&G folks before actually dispatching these vermin!

No need. Breakers usually usually work like a slow burn fuse. Inverse time to load, small overload can go for like a minute. The amperage to shock someone doesn't trip the breaker in most cases.

My concern would be if it's outdoors and you plug it into a GFI it will trip it, need to use non-GFI circuit. It's not going to trip the GFI because of the shock, but because the person has both neutral and ground hooked to mesh. Would need to hook up only neutral or ground and isolate the metal from the rarth.

It will only trip the GFI if you wire the ground into the base. Otherwise the squirrel is just the load.

Also I would suggest using a copper or at least aluminum base. Steel is a terrible electrical conductor. Maybe even a layer of salt water.

If you are really wild child, wire into a 220 volt circuit.

I have used traps, pellet rifles, 22 rifles with cb caps, but for each one I kill another quickly takes its place. Never ending battle.

You got it backwards, the neutral can't touch earth, ground can. In some countries the ground is actually called earth. But I like your idea of 240, gets the job done twice as fast. I think I will make one before next garden season.

Look at the picture again. The hot is suspended above the plate with peanut butter. Both the neutral and ground are wired directly to the plate. The mouse closes the circuit and current flows from the hot through the mouse to both the neutral and ground. Normally this would be fine. Unless the device is plugged into a GFI. Then the GFI will detect some current flowing through the ground and will shut off the power.

I find when I use a 12 ga, there is less clean up...
