My Big Green Eggs were destroyed in the Derecho that hit East Central Iowa. I am awaiting insurance settlement and considering going to a pellet pooper to make BBQ life a bit easier. My local dealer has the Memphis grills available and they look to be very well made albeit expensive, total stainless construction and pretty much set and forget which suits me.
I know the pellet grills do not impart as much smoke and are not able to reach the volcanic levels of the Egg but I don't do pizza so not an issue.
I am aware of all of the other pellet grills out there but at this time only want input about the Memphis products. Just curious if anyone here has experience with a Memphis grill. Good or bad, I'd like to hear.

You said eggs, so I assume multiple. When the settlement comes, replace one and get a pellet smoker with the rest of the settlement. You will probably still come out ahead.

I haven't used the Memphis grills so I can't comment on them specifically, but the lack of smoke can be completely counteracted with the addition of a $20 smoke tube. Fill that up, set it in there and you have hours of steady, uninterrupted smoke. You can also use it to cold smoke foods you would like to prepare that way. With a smoke tube I don't think you give up anything at all to other smokers.

"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in."

Green Mountain smokers are good value for the money, they can reach higher temps than the older smokers, have wifi access for monitoring temps adjustments etc...

I run a Traeger bought at Costco, it's several years old and does a great job imparting smoke but you have to adjust the smoke setting up to get it really smokey.
