Along JHE's line of reasoning - the Texas legislature prohibits LTC holders from carrying in a school building (elementary, middle/junior, and high schools) but not from carrying in their vehicle in the parking lot. If a school can't prevent a parent from having a gun in the drop-off lane they certainly can't have a say in the parent's attire in the drop-off lane.

It was being discussed this morning on the radio & I took it to be that this policy is for on/in campus visitors, not drop off/pick up.

Considering the climate of many schools today, I would probably choose not to wear an NRA cap or anything advertising firearms ownership when on campus.

It is a sad momentary that they have to inform the parents how to dress....

then again I was embarrassed all through high school because my father usually wore black oxfords with white socks and 'high water' pants. Now, I'm ashamed of how I felt.

Race card played so this policy will go away really soon.

I was wondering why the "R" word hadn't been used.

I watched the clip and it appeared at the end that the news anchors were pandering to those who wanted to wear inappropriate clothing. I am sure there is a dress code for news anchors. It would be funny to have the newscasters deliver the news wearing shower caps and pajamas. They could show their solidarity!

Maybe not. The newscaster guy, who presumably gets paid decent bucks, apparently can't afford a tie.
