Most people who can't see the value of $123 a month (or pretty much any amount starting at $25 / mo and going up), likely live paycheck to paycheck and have minimal retirement or regular savings.

I didn’t say I didn’t like to save money. All the hype seems way over blown if that’s typical for the example given. I’m sure lots of people could use more relief than that. How much has your medical gone up? Or will go up in 2018?

Well, if insurance is no longer mandatory, what's to stop folks from putting the $1,000 a year into a savings account to be used for medical purposes? (Notice I didn't say set up a formal medical savings account, which takes you into all sorts of legal restrictions and requirements.) On every year when you put that money into the savings account, you can (at least theoretically) buy cheaper insurance with a deductible that's $1,000 higher than the deductible in the last insurance plan you bought into.

If you look at the percentages, for married with kids in the 40-225K range, calculators show anywhere from 4-7% increase in after tax income.

Maybe it is better than I thought. If I use numbers from my 2016 taxes, looks like I would save about $500 per month if I figured my itemized and standard deductions correctly. My hooha level has gone up if true.

How can anyone believe/support these traitorous politicians? They stand firmly against a piece of legislation that will DIRECTLY benefit their constituents.

Are their supporters that brainwashed?

for all Schumer's bluster about how this only helps the rich, he has a hard time explaining that to wealthy people in NY

NY is the state with the highest average "state and local tax deduction" on federal income taxes. For 2015 that was $22,169

For people living in NY city, state and local tax deductions can run into 6 figures.

That state and local tax deduction will now be capped at $10k.

Top ten states with the highest average state and local tax deductions:

New York
Connecticut
California
New Jersey
District of Columbia (not a state)
Massachusetts
Minnesota
Maryland
Oregon
Illinois

***************

House voting on the Senate bill now

House passes the Senate bill 224 votes for (no DEMs of course)

Strange.... I wonder if there is something common to all those states?

The Republicans would never have managed to pass this new tax bill without President Trump's leadership.

Drivel like that is so easy to counter (if you have half a brain) it's not even worth the effort.

The dems can gnash their teeth all they want now, once people start seeing savings from this plan all of the lefts lies about it will be exposed.

This has nothing to do with "protecting the middle class" and has everything to do with keeping them from seeing the truth and stopping Trump from having any type of victory.
