Anybody familiar with Levinson Leather Goods or have any of their products? I’m looking for a laptop/travel bag. Saddleback leather is nice but out of my budget and I came across this brand at less than half the cost.

Any other recommendations are appreciated. Thanks

I'm not familiar with Levinson, but suspect they are using poorer quality leather.

My understanding is that real leather comes in a few different grades: full-grain, top-grain, split-grain, and genuine. I looked around on the Levinson site and saw that they only say "high quality cowhide leather". My guess is that, assuming they're using real leather, that it's the lowest grade (genuine).

Depending on the item, I buy from Col. Littleton. Their stuff is even pricier than Saddleback, but they make great products that last. I have a front pocket wallet that is over 10 years old and still looks great.

Buy once, cry once. Wink

The Saddleback website is a good read. Thank you for pointing it out.

Gfeller.us is also worth checking out - big step up in quality over saddleback. Col. Littleton is good, but Gfeller is a bit more graceful. (And very good at custom work.)

For real! I mean, I just "thought" Saddleback was expensive. Roll Eyes

FTR, the Levinson website seems to take great pains to not list where their goods are made, not sure I'd go with them simply because of that. They "imply" they're made in LA, but notably never state made in USA.
