vthokyTesla owners, I have a question.
This evening I had "opportunity" (trying to be positive here) to sit in some in-town traffic for a loooong time. In the process, I passed by two Tesla sedans (Model 3 is the smaller sedan, right?).
I observed each one light up its parking lights for just a second or two and then go dark again. Neither one had anyone inside it, nor anyone walking next to it. So, what were they doing? I've never had occasion to see that before.

KMitch200Proximity sensors lighting up the parking lights?
Don’t own one but they do have external cameras. Cops want to see if any pics/video was taken by the car when a crime is committed near one.

BeancookerIt’s called Sentry Mode. Additional security. It’ll pulse the lights if a threat is detected, or there is a lot of vibration, or if the car is bumped.

So they were autonomous? I've never seen one. I think it would freak me out.

Yea Sentry mode. Bumps or if it seems something come close to it with one of the cameras. It will flash lights and record that moment. So if someone's trying to break in or mess with it. It'll record those moments and store it on a USB drive in the glove box.
Owner can go back and review film later if they wish.

vthokyVery interesting. Thanks, y'all.
I'm still curious what triggered them, as there wasn't anyone in or around these two cars when I saw it happen.
Pretty cool technology, though, I think.
