it's some private bear "advocacy" group that's got their panties in a wad. There's no mention of whether this is illegal (probably not, or a worst, a minor misdemeanor). So what is the end game of the reward? Most likely virtue shaming.

On the one hand, it would be neat for them to have to pay out the $5K for essentially nothing. On the other hand, there is no telling the outcome of the virtue shaming. To you and I, it matters not. To leftists in Asheville, the guy may end up being unemployable.

I guess the bear could be habituated to humans but I still can not imagine someone able to get that close. He is still wild after all. According to the news here today..this group has recently tagged a few bears but it did not say how recently. I would not have any problem believing that this group did it themselves when they collared this bear. These leftists are deranged enough to do just that.

If those upset about the situation applied their own "reasoning", that's entirely feasible. Since modern culture insists that, "It's wrong to assume 2+2 always equals four", maybe they should explain why it's impossible for the bear not to have put this on itself or whether the animal has the "right" to decide such issues?
