Thank you. This is outstanding. I wish I had seen it as a teenager, but I was blessed with my Mom's version. "Young man, I am raising a man and right now I an just not seeing it."

Another Prager U presentation that I think might get through to those on the Left that still retain some self-awareness and even a modicum of reasoning ability is "The Rally That Changed My Mind"

https://youtu.be/VoEuCOfjTYQ

Such a great message from that young lady.

I believe most Leftist have the same problem as people who are addicted to anything. Unless they acknowledge that there might even be a problem, they will not seek or accept any change to their world view.

The woman in the video above still retained enough ability to question and desire for truth to go to the source and learn for herself. There have been many like her recently with the Walk-Away movement, I just wish more would practice what they preach about love and tolerance.

Thanks Para, I really enjoyed that. Well, maybe I didn't "enjoy" it as much as I saw some areas I could improve upon. (That's always good)

My kids and I will be watching this tonight.

Excellent. Worthy of sharing with anyone, regardless of age. I wonder what he would say about hate.

Excellent stuff.
I've been reading Jordan Petersen's "12 rules for life" and I hear a lot of echoes of what he says.
The lack of maturity is what probably makes it so hard to discuss matters with leftists.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.

Thanks for that. I’ve gotten to the age at which I’m not too concerned about whether I satisfy someone else’s opinion of what sort of person I should be, but the video did serve as an aid for a bit of self-evaluation of where I am and how I got there.

I don’t know that developing the first four characteristics were things I had to “work” at. Natural or not, the circumstances of my life really didn’t give me much choice but to develop them.

I must admit, though, that the fifth—achieving deep understanding of others—didn’t happen nearly as soon, and perhaps has still not developed to the same level as the rest. I will, however, give credit where whatever credit is due, and that’s to my participation in this forum. As others have pointed out, the forum is a form of social media in many ways, and despite the facile criticisms that are so often made about the harmful effects of social mediums, participating here has been profoundly enlightening.

I have learned countless other things about myriad subjects here, but what has benefited me most is learning what other people think, and, most important, how other people think. I would have benefited more had I developed that level of understanding much earlier in life, but better late than never, and especially because it has allowed me to make sense of much of what I never really understood in my earlier decades.

6.4/93.6

“ Enlightenment is man’s emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one’s own understanding without another’s guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one’s own mind without another’s guidance.”
— Immanuel Kant

Excellent video and nice post sigfreund.

I see a lot of these stunted leftists and it is obvious they are completely miserable because they have cheated their way through life in order to shun responsibility. That's exactly why they are socialists, and they see people like us with families that we would die for, and they hate us even more because it amplifies their own emptiness.

Excellent video. Prager U is a gem. I’m deficient in two of the five. Containing my emotions and understanding others’ perspectives. Those are narcissistic characteristics afaik. I am actively working on them but anxiety/urgency leverage against that effort. It’s frustrating sometimes.
