I got a postcard in the mail saying I was eligible to participate in a class action lawsuit against a telemarketer for their illegal use of "robocalls" to Do Not Call numbers. Apparently I was the recipient of some of these calls back in 2016, and may get a $20-$60 settlement!

I have been a "class member" in class action lawsuits before and usually I just ignore them. Not worth my time to file a claim, and I generally don't agree with this class action mentality.

But, in this case, Hell Yes! Anything to poke a stick in the eye of one of these losers. I have not heard of a class action lawsuit for violating Do Not Call laws, but a 2015 Supreme Court decision evidently made it easier for lawsuits against telemarketers to proceed.

Maybe I'll get a bottle of scotch out of the deal. At least, I will smile as I hit the "reject" button on my cell phone and think of some company that had to write out a $9 million check. Smile

I answered an email about a similar class action lawsuit and received a little over $1100.00. That is not a typo.

Just be careful and do your due dilligence. Apparently there are some scams using class action lawsuits out there.

I get so damn many calls despite being on both state and national do not call lists. I wish they all would get sued. I almost feel being,on the do not call list has gotten me getting so many calls. My wife and my never signed up and don’t get any calls, yet I get 2-3 a day.

The phone scam industry DOES deserve to be the target of lots and lots of litigation!

They may be right. It certainly seems like there is no longer one. We eventually got one of the Panasonic phones with call blocking. Works pretty good. If you have blocked a number and it calls again, it rings once or twice then stops.
Definition of a class action suit is when you get $20 and the lawyer gets a professional basketball franchise.
