I think not, the cop was either to scared of being sued or prosecuted, or didn’t want the living hell of an officer involved investigation in a liberal, woke Mecca. This is the end result of Brown, Martin and Saint George of Fentanyl, cops are scared to pull the trigger and are going to get killed. Luckily this guy didn’t get hurt. https://www.bostonherald.com/2...ring-back-at-gunman/

I get it that the media wants to blow it up and a lot of us are partial to justice. But there is no way to say one way or another he should have shot. Nor does not shooting makes you a hero. Largely a BS article, IMO. ![]()

Where's that charge of attempted murder of a police officer? I'll give odds that Donyeea is already back on the streets, kicking in more doors, and threatening other peoples' lives.

Gee, it’s surprising that the headline isn’t heralding the criminal as a hero for facing imminent capture yet not getting injured or killed by the horrific LEO. Let’s see how professional the prosecutor is. "Wrong does not cease to be wrong because the majority share in it." L.Tolstoy "A government is just a body of people, usually, notably, ungoverned." thanks JohnO for the real story. Seems like the cop got shot at and was unable to find the suspect, who was later arrested. Happens all the time. I know first hand. The last time I got shot at, they corralled all of us involved and made us sit at the station and write reports so we wouldn’t be involved in apprehending the suspect( I guess they thought several of us would have just killed the shooter) But the Boston herald is just trying to get clicks. Perhaps, but the ultimate solutions are simple, hence the reason why they're beyond the grasp of this administration. Hmmmm, I'm having a hard time finding the problem here. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. And several dogs, because a man with a cat is a woman. Kurt Schlichter

My pleasure... liveboston617 is just the best. So we have this "thing" in the "hell holes" in Boston called ShotSpotter that can triangulate gunshots to GPS accuracy AND they have video on utility poles everywhere. Probably followed him to his house. The nitwits get pounced on bigtime, unfortunately our Mayor Madame Wu has the cops on a super short leash. and it's 100% catch and release.

More narrative-shaping and linguistic judo that the MSM is doing. Willfully ignoring the obvious criminal activity while continuing to push the message that guns are bad, people in uniform using guns is bad, especially when used against a minority irregardless of the actions that precipitated the confrontation.

Yeah, even my little school teacher grandmother said “some people just need killing”. She knew the deal, having grown up during the depression and serving in the Navy during WWII. But most people are adverse from doing the hard things that should be done "Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor.” Robert A. I read the article and unless I missed it, I don’t see where the officer had the opportunity to return fire. So, the part about being praised and showing professionalism is misleading. Huge difference between not shooting back because the situation didn't allow it and failure to defend oneself because you were trying to do something "heroic" or were just too afraid to act. When the press decides to interject their own "values" to provide a narrative to a story that doesn't exist, it convinces readers the fiction is "reality." Not only is this a false narrative, it provides for exceedingly dangerous expectations on the part of the public for future incidents. "I'm not fluent in the language of violence, but I know enough to get around in places where it's spoken."

I agree that there is a huge difference between the two reasons for nor returning fire. However, in reading the accounts and listening to the radio transmissions subsequent to the event, I also agree that in this case, the officer may not have had an opportunity to return fire. When asked for a direction of travel on the suspect, the ambushed officer was unable to provide that information with certainty, instead offering possible locations for setting up a perimeter and search area.
