My 33yr old daughter who has been battling triple negative breast cancer for the last 3yr has been nominated for a "make a wish" type award for adults and is thinking of renting a house in Destin for a week and have the whole family come down.
I need to know of some good charters in the area for ocean fishing.I had rather catch good eating fish as opposed to sport fishing. We will be there in January or February. What's in season?
Thanks for your help. Any recommendations are appreciated.

Black drum, sheepshead, reddish, flounder and speckled trout all can be caught from land or pier. Most offshore fish are out of season Jan/Feb. You could charter inshore boat guide.

^^^ That's a good link!

I'm not too familiar with Jan/Feb... We usually head down that way in May:
The warm weather brings even more species wherever you plan on fishing. Groupers, Snappers, Triggerfish, and Amberjack abound nearshore, with both kinds of Mackerel also going strong.

It's also a good time to fish for pompano which you can do from the shore.

Best wishes to your daughter.

The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

When I would go to Sanibel to fish, I would also book a sunset cruise. Which was a big hit with my female companions who did not care to go fishing.
I would guess you can find one the Destin area.
