Tony, I am so sorry. They work their way into your heart, then take a piece of it when they leave.

Always a sad, sad time.

My kitties live on in my memory. They had such distinct personalities.

It’s always tough knowing when is the right time to put a pet down, but it sounds like you did what was best for her, not that it makes the loss any easier. I’m so sorry for the pain you must be feeling.

Sorry for your loss.

We’ve had several cats over the years and as much as people claim they seem indifferent to us, they all have special personalities and are tremendous companions.

You did the right thing. 14 great years of service and companionship is sufficient.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

So sorry for your loss, I have walked that same road a few times and it's hard.

My advice is to rescue another one, when the time feels right.

Thank you for doing for your kitty what s/he could not do. You gave the most selfless gift you could give. You will hurt for a long time and you will never forget the love that they gave you, and you will meet them again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Best regards,
Nick.

It is always a difficult and painful decision to make, but it is the humane thing to do. I still miss my recently departed feline of 15 years. Best wishes.
