Saw this at the Auto show yesterday. Houston Police Dept raffling an AR-15 to benefit their cycling relay team. I stopped by and made a donation. Will never see this in NY or CA ...

That's awesome.

Definitely will not see that around here.

Don’t we all!

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I’m surprised their chief, who transferred from the Peoples Republic of Austin, hasn’t stopped this.

Howdy,

Definitely wouldn't happen in Hawaii.

Since we've been here, we have bought a lot of raffle tickets.

Probably cheaper to just buy the gun instead of getting raffle tickets.

Apparently Acevedo was not loved by the rank and file. He may have learned to step a little more lightly on his way to being the head of NYPD or whatever he's after.

Yup, I think he quickly realized that Houston is not another Austin. Not yet, anyway.
