I've purchased a used Canon camera body that's in great condition, save for some light scratches in the LCD displays on top and on the back.

I doubt these are glass.

Is there a plastic polish I can use to remove these scratches, or at least reduce them?

Try Colgate Cavity Prevention toothpaste. I've used it to polish vulcanite pipe bits.

As the owner of an old Piper Cherokee, I had need of a good (and safe!) plastic/acrylic/plexiglass polish.

There are two competing product lines that are widely marketed: Plexus and Novus. I have both, and continue to use them on the windscreen of my motorcycles now.

Of the two, I have developed a preference for the Novus, which is a three part system comprised of #3 for "Heavy Scratch Removal"' #2 for "Fine Scratch Removal", and #1 "Plastic Clean and Shine" to finish the job.

The #3 is not too abrasive, so I always start with it, even for Light to Moderate scratches. I've used it for over 15 years on the plane, and the windshield looks as good as new...

Good luck!
Don

Not meaning to hijack the OP's thread but does anyone know of a polish to remove scratches on glass?

Use either cerium oxide for minor scratches, or aluminum oxide for deeper ones. Only do this with glass, you will destroy plastic lenses with these.

I use these to polish glass lenses. Try using a Q-tip on the end of a dremel...

I love it here!

I'll second the Novus products. I've used them for years on motorcycle windshields and helmet shields with good success. I've also used the Novus #1 on CDs and DVDs to get rid of fingerprints, mild scuffs, etc.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm probably not going to try it.

I noticed Rain-X seems to cover up the scratches on the windshield I assume by filling in the void.

It really depends on the material. 3M makes a 3 step line that I like better than the Novus.....Collinite insulator wax works better than all of them at protection and very fine scratches......IMAR strataglass polish also works very well for a 1 step.
