Aprilaire dehumidifier?
I've been looking at dehumidifiers for an apartment I have under the house, the mini split does well cooling but not taking much moisture out so it stays a bit musty. Also in the attic possibly connected to the hvac system. The fun of living in SE Louisiana, Damp is part of life, my house was built mid 60's

I've tried the cheap ones that last about a year, then I'm buying another. Time for a one time purchase, they are not inexpensive

Anyone familiar and used them?

Bonus they are US made

I no longer own the property, but I had a home with a basement and a high water table. I ended up with a whole basement system to combat water and humidity. The commercial dehumidifier was called SaniDry XP.

My neighbor has an AprilAire E080 Pro...This one --> https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094PWS7K2

Quite simply, it kicks ass! He's had it for a few years now and he raves about it's performance. I want one... Wink

Santa Fe is what I would recommend, made in Wisconsin. You’ll need a condensate pump and some drain house, fairly straight forward setup.

Some mini splits, like the Mitsubishi have a de humidity control feature that really does the job, in addition to cooling.

That looks like a great unit. If/when mine goes out this will probably replace it.

Another approach is to buy one at Walmart and purchase the guarantee for an additional number of years at a modest cost. If it dies in 3 or 4 years you get a new one. That solves the problem of a short life for not a lot of money. The Frigidaire we bought there is on it's fourth year.
