DMFCostco for most batteries. A few years ago Consumer Reports tested a bunch of batteries, and while some "name" brands would last a little longer than the Kirkland brand, the cost savings more than made up for the shorter run times.

George offered some unbelievable deals on batteries that were out of sight.
That was the problem. The deals were out of sight, but so were the batteries - in the literal sense.

I’d avoid dollar store batteries, they are extremely cheap and don’t last and I had a set leak and ruin a toy we had for our child, totally rotted out all the contacts in the battery compartment.
The dollar store batteries are alkaline which are the best. Some also carry the old zinc carbon which have half the capacity of the alkaline but you will notice that you get twice the batteries compared to the alkaline package of 4 versus the zinc carbon pack of 8.

They seem to advertise HEAVILY on the talk radio station I listed to for my morning and evening commute.
This is Batteries + Bulbs we are talking about?

FenrisFor specialty batteries I usually go to Batteries + Bulbs. They're fairly knowledgeable.

They talked me into letting them install the new battery on my watch (I guess you could say, my fault after not heeding the words of my father to always use a jewler).
My watch stopped a day or so later and Batteries + would only recommend a jeweler who, upon revealing the scratched coil, wanted $100+ to fix.
So yeah, both of them are on my list.
On the positive side, I held on to the watch for a few years, almost forgetting about it and came across a jeweler who changed the battery and fixed it for $35. I had to ask how they could do that so cheap. They flat out told me the other jeweler would probably have sent them the watch to fix in the first place.
So yeah, I'm a bit biased against B+Lb.
