I am so very sorry for your loss! I lost my dad just a little over 3 years ago. It doesn’t matter how prepared you are; the loss is difficult. My dad died from a stroke after 6 months in a nursing home. You and your family are in my prayers.

Sorry for your loss. Cherish your good memories of him.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Condolences jhe. Losing a father is always a big loss. 83 is a good long run, though, and something to be thankful for. I lost my dad when he was 58 and I was 21.

Biggest hugs. So very sorry for this great loss.

If it won't matter in 5 years don't give it more than 5 minutes.
