Improvise, adapt, overcome. Use cammie paint to paint cammies on. It's kinda like "Going Commando", but since they're Marines, call it "Going Recon".

UpTheIronsWell, they'd better start hitting the surplus stores, those seem to have them in stock. Granted that its all the less than XL sizes, but they have them!

In my unit in the ANG, there is a “legend story” that circulated that an individual didn’t want to be in the Guard anymore and keep trying to get out, think “Corporal Klinger”.
One weekend Drill at the Saturday morning open ranks Wing formation on the Ramp, he showed up wearing only skivvies but his fatigues had been painted on by his girlfriend.
SPS took him into custody at order of Wing Commander. Needless to say, he got his discharge wish.

jed7s9bUntold billions and layer upon layer of command and we can’t even cloth our soldiers. Perhaps they need to quit leap frogging ahead on patterns and material and fluffy stuff and get back to being a military. We don’t really need matching outfits with allies or the latest tactical pocket flap closure.

In all seriousness, this is likely the reason, which has likely also contributed to the current shortage-
USMC Mandates Woodland MCCUU For Year-Round Wear Marines will now wear woodland green camouflage uniforms all year Woodland cammies are the year-round utility uniform, desert is reserved for deployments or, CO discretion. Those guys wearing woodland probably were allowed to wear if their deserts were dirty/destroyed, was he on float or, flew-back straight from field?
