I was contemplating getting a small teardrop for me and the kids to crash in on our travels. Since most of our travels take us through national parks and state parks for showering.

HOWEVER,

These people want 15-25K for USED!!! Good lord what is with this nonsense?

I'd be willing to pay 5-6K considering lodging is gonna be at least half that. But aint no way in hell I'm paying 20K for a teardrop!

10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

My guess is that this year, everything 'Travel Trailers' has a significant COVID margin. Folks want to get out on the road so I imagine trailers are selling briskly right now.

Yup. My one neighbor sells trailers and told my other neighbor he can get them what they paid for their 2 year old trailer if they want to sell it.

My mrs had someone on FB offer her more that what we paid for our Minilite, which wasn't for sale I might add.

Dealer stock appears to have been replenished here now, but I have no idea about the prices. I have been told some of the new ones have been more hastily assembled in the past year due to the manufacturers trying to meet demand, and a lot of people have had more issues with their brand new ones than ones built a few years ago.

I'd look for a consignment a few years old (this is how we bought ours in September).

Not only have RV trailers become high demand, so have places to park them, i.e., RV parks, campgrounds.

Teardrops have always been stupid high IMHO. I'm surprised some small manufacturer hasn't jigged up and cranked them out at competitive prices. Seems like they would be inexpensive to tool up for without plumbing and heating involved.

If the purpose is to stay at campgrounds along the way, I'd check that out before purchasing to make sure you can find places along your route to stay. Here in MN, the state campgrounds take reservations 120 days in advance and they've been filling up fast. Around here they're probably already booked into September.
