I have a 34" 3440 x 1440 IPS panel on my work/gaming rig. I am running 1 EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC2 - 11G-P4-6593-KR. I want to add 2 24" monitors to the mix. I don't want to expand my gaming window to these monitors but was hoping to be able to have a browser window or security cams open on the other monitors if I wanted. I found a mixed bag of suggestions on the web. Some suggested to just add a low end GPU to run the other monitors. Some said it will work fine without it. Does anyone have experience with this type of setup? "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

I would just swap out the card for a multi monitor card and call it a day or add a second PC. It's been years but it looks like not much has changed. https://multimonitorcomputer.c...ming-video-cards.php Here is a good site for different budgets for cards. we were using a few machines to support walls with rows of monitors. I would do a cheap pc with a dual monitor card and set it up with a switch just quickly toggle back in forth.

I have experience with this. The Geforce should run all three with ZERO issues; however, you should also have on-board video output as well. The Intel and AMD processors almost always include video support now and you should be able to run the 2ndary monitors off of the on-board video. Even the 2nd Gen core-i Intel processors could handle pretty high video demands, just not any gaming. You could run a couple of blu-ray movies on the built-in video from the intel CPUs no problem. They should be plenty for your other stuff, if you're keeping your game in a window or full screen just on the ultra-wide. Once you have all of your monitors plugged in, you can arrange the displays in Windows, even if the two 24" units are on the sides and running off of the Intel or AMD onboard GPU. EDIT - Here is the spec-sheet for that card: https://www.evga.com/products/...df-8202-b49614e9d54d Here is the listed outputs: HDMI 2.0b, DisplayPort 1.4 and Dual-Link DVI You should be able to run 3 monitors off of that; however, if it crabs because you have the ultrawide, you can and should just plug the others into your motherboard. Once you're in the game (which you might have to run full-screen windowed mode) you should be good to go. I really don't think you'll need any other hardware except video cables that match your monitors and your onboard output(s). What are the stats of your PC? What does the output of the motherboard look like? There's a chance you'll need to enable the on die GPU in the BIOS. “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”—H.L. Mencken

From my reading of the specs it will support 3 monitors (actually 4). You might have to use monitors with display ports or just match to the connectors left available on the graphic card. I don't see a problem with 3.

Saw the same thing from reviewing the specs on the card. Keep them all DisplayPort and work out the configuration and you should be good to go. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. I have a GTX 1080 Ti on my work machine and I run three monitors. They are not quite as big as yours but I have 2 27" ASUS monitors and then an old 17" that I keep up my email on. The 2 big ones are on DisplayPorts and the 3rd us just on DVI because it is old. I have available HDMIs. I'm gonna vote for the funniest frog with the loudest croak on the highest log.

Never even thought about running them off the onboard video on the MOBO. I am going to run them from the other 2 DP outputs on the 1080ti and see how that goes, and modify from there. I should have everything Wednesday. I'll post back then. Thanks for all the replies! "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

I agreed that the card should support them fine. One input will likely need to be display port, but you can buy an inexpensive DP to HDMI or DP to DVI adapter (likely needs to be Active DP). I ran three 1920x1080 displays off of a 1070 with no issues. Edit: You know what, I'm really tired and got my machines screwed up. I was doing that on a Radeon 7970. Current machine has a 1070 pushing a single ultra wide screen. Still 100% doable with a 1080, just can't remember if you have too use a certain combination of portsThis message has been edited. I agree with others, my 1080 driving two 24 and one 43 at those resolutions with no problems. The two 24s are display port, the 43 hdmi.

I figured it would work. I was more concerned with how it would affect my 34" while gaming. I am using DP for my main panel and picked up some DP to HDMI to run to the 2 24's. I have been running my laptop on my desk with a browser open. It will be nice to have some more real estate. "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."

Excellent! It's hard to go down once you go up, as far as monitor real estate is concerned. “The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false-face for the urge to rule it.”—H.L. Mencken

A lot of us run 3 at work with one card (a basic Nvidia Quadro). Your 1080 ti can run 3 without issue. The real question is - do you really need 3 monitors? -------------------- I like Sigs and HK's, and maybe Glocks

Games I've tried seem to work fine, resolution had to be adjusted in game after loading but so far so good. My GF is not impressed but she'll get over it "We've done four already, but now we're steady..."
