The US needs to ban "non-profit" NGOs from receiving ALL forms of tax dollars
At the core of so much of the corruption being uncovered are "non-for-profit" non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Feed Our Future Stacy Abrams Fireaid Homeless services Drug and Alcohol treatment Diversion programs
The list goes on ad infinitum.
And here is yet another example of why I am saying this.
Maryland REFUSES to release information on how much of the state's tax revenue goes to non-profit NGOs, much less provide a list of ALL the NGOs receiving funds from the state.

As someone who has worked with nearly all of them, especially in Africa, I wholeheartedly agree.
Every single NGO, I worked with was a fraud.

NGOs should not receive any taxpayer funding, period. If the work they're doing is so important and vital, there are plenty of private donors to be parted from their money.

Agreed. Burn it down.
What started off as good has been irreparably corrupted. What I mean by started off as good is that other than national defense and a handful of items the gov't sucks at what it does. Some well intentioned people looked at successful NGOs already doing the same work and said let's give them money to expand their successful programs and get rid of our shitty gov't programs. Then, multiple things happened:
Some Christian based NGOs actually expanded what they did and were successful. Over the years, their boards of directors were slowly replaced with accountants and they went from sharing Jesus and making people's lives better to let's maximize revenue from this gov't money. I'll give an example of this at the end.
Communists did what communists do. Taking control of the board of directors and key positions at charities and foundations is part of communism 101. They are also very good at incrementalism (i.e. the long game) and will slowly chip away at their goals over decades. Now, you have people controlling NGOs receiving taxpayer money and their goal is to use it to destabilize Democracy.
Politicians did what Politicians do. Their 1st goal is to get elected and their 2nd goal is to get re-elected. I used to think everything else was a distant 3rd, but graft is #3 and everything else is a distant 4th. They use taxpayer money to buy votes and get re-elected, and seemingly many have been getting a cut from the NGOs.
The vulture class who wants to get paid without working jumps at opportunity to set-up NGOs realizing there is little/no gov't oversight of the taxpayer money (i.e. once again the gov't sucks at most things they do). A few kickbacks here and there insures that there is no gov't oversight of taxpayer money.
Example of bullet #1: World Relief used to be a great Christian organization. I traveled to Rwanda and Congo with them and my church in '05. They were truly doing teach a man to fish type work in Africa with microfinance, training, and even funding ag research to take Rwanda's coffee from C-grade to A-Grade so with the same effort farmers could earn a better living (BTW, it must've worked as 20 years later Rwanda coffee is in Starbucks and supermarkets). They had other great ministries making a difference as well - HIV/AIDS, widows and orphans, post-genocide conflict resolution, child immunizations, etc. At one point, I was on a first name basis with both the current CEO and former CEO. Both had been full-time missionaries, and were great Godly men. I donated to them monthly for at least a decade.
Then, something changed during the 2nd Obama admin:
their new CEO was a former executive from one of the big 4 accounting firms. No indication he had ever been a full-time missionary.
every year, the board of directors elected more and more directors from big 4 accounting firms without indication of having full-time missionary experience.
they created a vice president of "brand." This tends to be the beginning of a downward spiral for any charity as next thing you know they're trademarking everything and they act more like a marketing firm than a charity. Eventually, they begin suing other charities for trademark infractions especially if the other charity is smaller.
they became addicted the US government tit in the form of being paid to help facilitate 3rd world immigration. During the Trump's first term, they started sending e-mails whining about their finances due to Trump's immigration policies. This is when I went from concerned to my eyes wide open to pissed off and cancelling monthly giving.

So how much money would that put in your wallet? It’d certainly buy me a lobster dinner or two each year.

DC decided to stop “funding” charities by tax credit, purely from graft.
I agree that the system only exists to be corrupt/maybe to do “sketchy stuff” during the Cold War.

Let's go a step further: Why don’t we decide that wealth transfer is not a valid purpose of government? It's not in the Constitution. It’s theft!
End all forms of welfare.
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

My initial position when I saw the OP was no because some NGO do provide actual services to communities but I change my mind.
Let them incorporate as charitable non-profits and they can raise their own funds. Those who believe in their cause can support it with tax deductible donations. I think this is a good compromise as there's no money to be made donating your own money for tax deductions.
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Lets apply public company rules to anyone that receives public funds from the feds, NGO, Charity, Church,
They must produce audited quarterly financial statements, audited by external CPA firms that certify them, same for an annual statement. Detailed spending on EVERYTHING they spend just like any NYSE registered public organization.
If you want to be in the game of supplying services for the federal government then lift your skirt every quarter for everyone to see.
That's if we can't stop the process, lets make it unbearably difficult to hide things and if you do and get caught, nice few years of jail time will apply.

One simple law - any non-profit or NGO has to put 80% of the money they take in to their charitable cause in a material manner. Management and consulting fees cannot exceed 20%.
The way it is now, they pay themselves, hire a bunch cronies as consultants, pay them, and in many cases launder money to give it back to the politicians and to unapproved partisan organizations. The amount of grift is higher than I ever imagined.
George Soros may fund a lot of leftist silliness. But I am willing to be the vast majority of their funding is taxpayer dollars that have been diverted to them.
That's why they are so rabid about getting rid of Trump, and Musk when he was leading DOGE. They will shut off the money hose and starve the activists.
I really hope Bondi's DoJ is investigating the activist funding deeply enough to bring RICO and domestic terrorism charges against the funders.
