Two things my father taught me: 1.Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it.

2.The greatest gift a father can leave his children when he dies is a good name, i.e., a legacy of good character.

Freedom comes from the will of man. In America it is guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment

Never go to bed angry with your wife if you want to keep her all your life.

You are not always right just because you think you are.

When you mess up... own it don't hide it.. Get over it... learn from it... but realize you will mess up again soon enough. Life is full of lessons.

Life is seasonal, you never know when the last time you will do something so do everything with Gusto..Kindness...Love and have FUN...

Your Kids have done things you never knew they were doing...
Don't worry they will tell you what they did when you're too old or when they have kids of their own.

As a recently single guy I’ve had the opportunity to re-learn a few universal truths;

1. They’re all F’ng crazy.
2. There are no exceptions to rule #1.
3. If you think you’ve met the unicorn exception to rule #1, you better double check. It’s likely to be a dude in drag.
4. She always comes first.
5. ... as many times as possible.
6. There will always be time to make more money. You can never recreate time with your kids. Never.
7. Don’t stick your d#@k in crazy.
8. Don’t own a German / Italian car after the expiration of the warranty. They cost lots and lots of $$ to maintain.
9. Same thing for fast wimmens. Lots and lots of $$ to maintain.
10. Be mindful of your role as a man: be a role model for your sons; be a role model for the man that your daughter will choose; not necessarily in that order.
11. Don’t be a spine donor. Understand your ethical and moral positions and be able to discuss them intelligently. In the vernacular; have a pair.

More to come as I remember them.

T.

I try to always adhere to my signature line and....

Rest is a weapon.

Never have a philosophy which supports lack of courage.

If the cart is moving towards your destination as fast as you need to get there, don't beat the horse unless you're willing to pull the cart yourself.

Another one came to mind (I think these up as I remind myself to do them throughout my day):

when given the opportunity to either be right or to be kind, always choose to be kind.

You can’t take it with you.

As you approach the end of this life or before your memory degrades, distribute what you have accumulated to your loved ones.

This will provide enjoyment for all involved.

Leave a road map for those you leave behind.
Combination to safe, location of financial documents, etc.
Not everyone enjoys a scavenger hunt.

run out of other people’s money.

You can’t reason someone out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into.

The only person’s behavior you can change is your own; the only person responsible for your behavior is you.

It’s better to regret the things you did than the things you didn’t do.

You have no idea what you are capable of until you try.

If you can count your true friends on more than one hand, count again.

You need a certain amount of money to live on. You can work a lot of hours for a little money or work a little hours for a lot of money.

SIGforum is a great place to learn interesting things, such as:

If your car won’t shutoff, locate the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor and unplug it.

The mind can only absorb what the ass can endure.

This lesson was learned giving some training classes in the past. People can only sit so long before shutting down. In my opinion it’s about 45 minutes or so.
