Here, for example, is the embed code for "Love is Alive" by Gary Wright. The offending part is bolded.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/82DSEkHatpw?si=K30BoBXoE4tYcVgR&;start=59" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Putting this code, including the bolded part, between the brackets and posting it on the board will make the video start at 59 seconds. I did not check the box, let alone type in 0:59. It did this three times yesterday, with two different videos, before I caught on. By deleting the ;start=59 from the embed code, the video will post, play and control normally.

If you listened to the video for 59 seconds prior to clicking on the share / embed video buttons, it would typically give you that 'start=59' but you'd have to check the box. Maybe you need to clear your cache on your browser.

ETA - I just went to that video and I don't get the 'start=59' in the embed code.

Great Tune by the way! Wink

How are yall getting the code? I right click on the video and select "Copy Embed Code" and it doesn't grab the time.

Click the "Share" box below the video, then select "Embed." A popup box appears, pausing the video and showing the embed code. Then I highlight, right-click and select "Copy." There is a check box for "Start at" showing the point at which you pause the video. You can check the box and select what time you want to start the video, but I don't check it. There is also an option to copy the code to your "clipboard." (I sometimes have issues with that as well, but this is separate.)

Youtube seems to have changed some things lately. If you are signed in and you watch a video partially, it now wants to pick up where you left off, if you go back to the video. Consequently, it's adding that "start=(seconds)" stuff to the URL. If you want to embed the video and have it start from the beginning after you ahve partially watched it, just remove that syntax from the URL, or, log out and click on the video again to get the embed code, or clear your cookies, which will accomplish the same thing.

It was a lot more work to compose my post. Big Grin The procedure I described takes maybe a minute.

The reason I do that is because of another issue. If I copy to the "clipboard," then try to paste it in the board's reply window, sometimes it "crashes" my browser (Microsoft Edge). It closes whatever tabs or windows I had open and I have to reopen the browser.
