I love my Beats Fit Pro earbuds. Pretty much the same functionality as AirPod Pros but they fit my ears much better.

Nothing lasts forever. My Skullcandy and Raycons work okay. I presume sound quality is more a question of the source.

A lot of viable choices out there. She doesn't know what she wants and wants me to choose them. They will likely never see the outside of her home office. She might do some calls here or there but is definitely in the casual listening category. Music that doesn't impede her thinking/working.

As far as getting lost, she wants some kind of tether. I was thinking about some of these.

You’re getting recommendations all over the board. Really, who can say what’s best because how many pairs (other than what comes with your phone) can a person have? My brother gifted me a pair of Jabra ear buds. They’re good, and have features that can be controlled by touching the ear buds, maybe they all do. I guess you look for about any of the recommended brands and see if you can’t find a good price.

My son has had a number of different brands probably 8 or 9 different pairs. Jlab are pretty crappy and they always come unpaired, the worst of the bunch. The Apple ones were pretty ok. The Cleer Audio are the best so far. Of course he lost them and is currently assaulting his ears with the old Jlab tinny-sounding earbuds.

The person ... who automatically updates to the latest iPhone, the latest operating system, and yes, the latest AirPods with the “spatial audio” is perhaps too conformist to be perceived as truly cool.

Side benefits - they are less likely to get knocked loose; if lost, they are a bit easier to hunt up; and if unfindable, probably cheaper to replace.

Get her what she wants, of course, but you could point her at this info to see if the easier-to-find-and-cheaper-when-lost corded approach might work for her.

Not two weeks ago my left bud popped while running along a rail to trail. It must have hit my toe and was Goooooone for good. I had a spare from a warranty replacement, but if I ever buy again they will be white, not black. Black is unfindable. I ran corded for years (who didn't, eh?). Somewhat a PITA, but certainly cheaper, no battery life issues on crazy long runs, and loss is a nonissue. Of course now, Dongles are the added downside.

A good friend swears by his Raycon earbuds https://www.amazon.com/Everyda...phone/dp/B095T14D4S/ .
Me? Picked up Tozo T6 buds last October from Amazon and have been well satisfied. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07RGZ5NKS

I like the Tozos, but I've had to send back 3-4 pairs because of dying really quickly. Sound is good, they stay in for everyday use, not good for exercise or labor.

I've tried three models.

12's were my favorite, only draw back is slight quite background buzz when no audio present on certain websites. This does not happen with my Beats headphones, so it's not a phone thing.

10's no complaints other that they stay in your ear slightly less than the 12's do and have slightly more muddied sound.

NC9 noise cancelling is cool, but not great. Stays in ear well but not as well as two above. Sound quality was less than two above.

These are listed in order of how I rate them. Overall, due to multiple failures, I will not be ordering again. I may have had bad luck? Either way for sound quality to cost they are awesome, but their longevity is a joke.

Well she made her choice and ordered some of these, SAMSUNG Galaxy Buds Pro's. They are down at the local locker and I'm going to pick them up in a few minutes.

Thanks to all for the input. Quite a sea of choices out there!

According to the single biggest headphone database guy, they're some of the best you can get.

I am hearing good reviews about the newly released Sony WF-1000XM4 noise cancelling earbuds. They are not cheap, but just a bit more than the Apple AirPods Pro.

When in doubt, mumble
