My wife's Apple Watch is getting to where it won't even survive a full day.

She's wanting something new, but doesn't want another Apple Watch.

For around what a new fruitwatch costs and of similar size to the smaller apple watch, what's the next best option for a smartwatch with a similar featureset?

She's thinking Fitbit, but I don't know what other good options are out there.

If cost is a concern at all - you can have Apple replace the battery for about $99, which would most likely solve your issue. If you have Apple Care+, they'll replace the battery for free.

Think it pretty much links to what she wants it for, phone connectivity means watch with the same platform as the phone. Health and fitness, then looking into the features of the watch.

BTW Costco has Apple 9 watch at $90 off....

No AppleCare on it, but good to know that's an option.

Her birthday is coming up next month, so a new one was my thinking for that.

I bought a Garmin Venu 3 7 months ago and am very happy with it. The Venu 3 does not come in a LTE version so it must be linked to your phone (iPhone or Android) for calls & text. Battery life was the selling point for me and I'm getting 8-10 days per charge. My heaviest use is when I connect it to my Concept rower's computer 5-6/week.

I think it's best described as a health watch, tracking various health related stats (sleep, H/R, steps, HRV, etc.). It also has a multitude of physical activity apps (walking, running, indoor rowing, pickleball, hiking, biking, etc.). As an aside, the pickleball app (and others) will automatically turn on the GPS. It's nice to know that I cover about 2 miles in a couple of ours of pickleball, but the track looks like someone dropped a box of spaghetti on the floor.
