I think there have been several threads on the inconsistencies of the left. They stand behind some of the most oppressive regimes for women, and do not see any hypocrisy. Sometimes I think this one is explained by: The lefts real enemy is conservatives. Conservatives enemy is radical muslims (and/or lawlessness). So for the left the whole enemy of my enemy is my friend crap comes into play. Makes us a bigger threat to the left. Agreed makes absolutely no sense.
