We delivered newspapers for many years and that was 365 nights a year. Don't do that anymore but we deliver meds. So if we get a stat call we could have to deliver about anywhere in South Louisiana.

Worked 06-1800 today and will be tomorrow as well. Dispatching fuel trucks in Kentucky and West Virginia. Yesterday was very busy. Today easier but but sales were way up. Then the snow storm hit. Spent the afternoon adjusting loads to prevent run outs.

I hear tomorrow is very slow.

Worked 8-5 (left early) today and 2-8 tomorrow.
I’m glad to be there for those that truly need meds.
For the ones who just want refills on their usual stuff, not so much.

On call for orthopedic trauma through the end of the weekend.
Most people won’t show up with broken bones on Christmas, but I bet I will get real busy on the 26th.
I mostly deal with broken hips and ankles. The older folks simply slip and fall, and the break the hip. (We don’t have ice or snow yet here to increase the incidence of such things, but they can fall anywhere - home, church, the grocery store)
We have untold miles of hiking trails here, and I see the younger people breaking ankles falling on the trails also.
With any luck no calls at all, but really can’t do much but sit and wait for the phone to ring. I often use it as a time to catch up on reloading

My current job I'm off. Something that is very different from the past! Unfortunately, now most of my family has passed on, so I really don't have to much family to spend it with.

For all that have to work, be safe, and Merry Christmas!

Just got home a little bit ago from a little over 13 hour shift.
Had a nice ice strom wreak havoc on traffic for awhile.

Off the next 3 days thankfully.

I was on call and got called in to work 19:00-07:00. Currently sitting in my bus in a parking lot and watching it snow. Thanks to all of my fellow public safety and ER peeps for working tonight and tomorrow. Just the wife and I at home anymore so no little ones to miss waking up on Christmas morning. Be safe out there

Thanks guys and gals. Stay safe and is awesome to hear those of you covering shifts for the younger families with kids. That rates right up with as good as it gets.

Ditto Jerry’s OP. 28 years doing the dispatch thing I have a lot of Christmas shifts under my belt.

Time to let the young whippersnappers get the easy money. Nowadays I take vacation over Christmas and New Years.

We're retired. But our daughter works dispatch for airborne ambulance. She's at work now, hopefully a boring day rather than a stressful day.
