This clip may contain clues as to why Mr. Bogus, Mr. Badges, Mr. Bangus is in court to begin with.

And I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but I suspect alcohol may have been a minor factor.

I can understand why Zoom is used for lower level court appearances today. It speeds things up, it means some of these people don't have to be brought in, it may even make things safer for court personnel.

But a courtroom should have a sense of respect at least, if not grandeur. Zoom hearings kind of cheapen the entire experience of administering justice. Defendants and attorneys alike should stand before the judge with respect.

"May it please the Court... ?"

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Apparently one dipstick thought it was needed. I pity the fool!

I can't wait for the movie, where Jeff Bridges plays the part of "Hizzonner: Michael K. McNally".

Because Jeff will bring it!

I'm giving you half an hour, Bogass.

And, The next time you appear in my court, you will comb your hair, and wear a suit and tie. And that suit had better be made out of some sort of... cloth. You understand me?

Sadly, stuff like this was a fairly common occurrence while I was a bailiff during the 2020-2022 time frame when the majority of court hearings were held by Zoom.

People appearing for court in bed while naked under a blanket or in their underwear.

Eating, or even drinking beer, while appearing for court.

Trying to appear for court while driving, or while at work.

Yelling at or even swearing at the judge or attorneys.

"Storming out" (disconnecting) in the middle of a hearing if it wasn't going their way.

Hollering at/arguing with their families in the background while appearing for court.

Appearing for court while in the same room as the person with whom they've been ordered to have no contact, then lying about it and denying it despite everyone having seen them on screen.

And more.

The sad truth is that many people these days can hardly behave themselves while in court in person. The mental and physical distance/disconnection of video conferencing just further erodes that limited self control.

The pandemic shutdown period was a total shitshow for law enforcement and the courts.

The phrase "that's a special kind of stupid" seems to fit here.
Clearly, some lessons yet to be learned by this defendant.

I’ve brought countless people before judges and had many court appearances over my career or, and I’ve never seen anywhere close to that level of disrespect. I’ve only seen this in similar YouTube shorts. Sadly, I can’t tell red pills from the blue since they’re getting so good.

Based on oddball's posted video, Mr. Bogus does not seem to have any balls! Thus life imitates art.

I would love to see the follow-up where Mr. B. appears in person before the judge. Alternatively, he being dragged in for ignoring a subpoena!
