You back to 5 minute miles yet? This rotator cuff surgery is going way better than I thought. Only needed the sling for 3 or 4 days.

I am doing good. Thank you for asking. I'm at the 14 week mark, and am back to quite a few normal activities. Physical therapy has made a real difference and every week I do something I could not physically have done the week before. I'm also back to working in the office which means I'm getting about eight times more steps compared to home office (e.g. it's 0.1 miles to take a leak) My understanding is the 16 week mark is when the chance of tearing the Achilles attachment point goes down significantly. It's also when the physical therapist gets extra evil. I'll be in physical therapy till the least the end of March. How are things going for you? Have you started PT? I remember my 1989 rotator cuff surgery and having to use my fingertips to walk my arm up the wall to get my arm up to shoulder height. PT starts Friday. I did PT from March to probably October but it didn’t get me where I needed so that’s why I had the surgery. I expected a lot worse but I’m doing pretty good compared to most of the stories I’ve heard about. Hope I’m back to work before 4 months but we shall see.

I'm glad I didn't just pass by this thread. I was going to because I thought someone had a foot fetish and wanted pics. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." I wish you luck. Post-surgery PT is much different than pre-surgery PT. It takes a lot more patience and you have to celebrate small victories. Sounds like a good goal. For me, my surgeon's goal was for me to be walking between week 10 (i.e. Christmas Eve) and week 12, but I had out of town company coming to stay for 10 days so I set a goal to be walking the week before company arrived. I walked in PT at 9 weeks and 1 day.
