What we say, "XYZ item was overpriced".

What we mean, "XYZ sold for more than I was willing to pay".

Easy access, good reliable auction items, brings together buyers and sellers, cars are hot items, be it the newest EV offering, Z06 Corvettes, or Restomod Dodge Power wagons.

Watch Mecum or Barrett Jackson if you want to see insane prices on classic cars and trucks....

That market is simply hot with high net worth investors....

Pretty solid build. I wouldn’t pay that. I’d build it myself. Not to save money only, but because I enjoy the activity of making what I image come to life so to speak. I’m currently building an LBZ Duramax truck. It’s a light weight project, but when I retire, I’ll build my dream truck starting with a 93-97 F350 crew cab. I’ll swap in a cat turbo diesel and a standard trans. I want it all mechanical. Old school.

Another build I’d like to do is a restomod with the 72 MGB I inherited. Swap in an LS and 6 speed from a supercharged corvette donor. Install some suspension mods and a couple of creature comforts. That would be a fun car. Mrs df would confiscate it.

Seems reasonable.

About the same as an Icon Motors build.

All this auction proves is there are a lot of people with a metric shit ton of money who are willing to spend it on things they want.

Case closed. Irrefutable evidence of one, or the other.

To say a particular site is overpriced because of one vehicle is beyond ridiculous. Roll Eyes

I agree. People are not thinking of how many rich people there are in this world. You can't say I would rather have this or that either. The person buying this truck probably has several other vehicles and I'm sure that they realize it's very expensive for what you are getting but they clearly want something they won't see coming and going on every street they drive on.
