I want to cross breed Alaskan Malamutes with Belgian Malinois.
I got the idea watching YT videos of both breeds.
I think the resulting breed, which I plan to name Belaskan Malanoisy would be a great, docile, quiet dog.
Nice is overrated

Add in some Australian Sheep dog so it's psychotic, too.

Good luck!

I went to a cardiologist office that had a toy Australian puppy running around that belonged to one of the technicians. One patient had asked what breed the dog was. It really was small. After hearing the answer, I quipped, “What’s it going to herd? Gerbils?”
"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Nah. Australian Shepherds, while high energy, are not psychotic enough. Sub in Border Collie instead to get the desired level of insanity.

We're mostly sure our pup [shelter dog] is a Border/Dalmatian mix. She's quite lazy despite it.

Not “high energy” dogs at all! Very cool and mellow pups! What could go wrong?
What’s that line from Jurassic Park? Just because you could, but no one asked if they should. Or something like that.
