I just heard about the MVPA Convoy heading across the country, it is currently in Ohio and is on the Lincoln Highway heading west celebrating its 100th anniversary of the military convoy along much of the same route. It has a Facebook Page and a live tracker.

50-100 vintage to modern-ish military vehicles going 30 or so mph. Looks to be in Iowa at the end of next week, they are stopping several days in DuPage, IL next week.

Pretty cool piece of moving history. My son and I went on part of it during the 90th anniversary.
