The Fat Electrician does the best history narrations. They move quickly, and his scripts are both witty and funny. Here's his review of the British DH-98 Mosquito, perhaps one of the most interesting planes to see service in the Second World War. Such a cool looking plane. Those two engine pods look like the biceps on 1975 Arnold. Bonus: If you liked that video, but you want some USN kicking ass, here you go. Demand not that events should happen as you wish; but wish them to happen as they do happen, and you will go on well. -Epictetus

He's got his facts a bit off. Operation Jericho was Mosquitos bombing a prison in France to spring a bunch of French Resistance due to be executed. Mosquitos were involved in several air raids on Gestapo HQs, mostly in Denmark. The whole "11 second fuse" comment seems to be particular to a raid in Aarhus, Denmark. Operation Carthage was against an HQ in Copenhagen, and unfortunately some of those bombs hit a school causing significant civilian casualties. There is a Danish movie, US title is "The Bombardment", which while not completely historically accurate, is based on/around the events of the raid. I think I saw it on Netflix. Come to think about it, there is also a movie about the Amiens prison raid, but the name escapes me. I always thought the Mosquito was the second best looking aircraft of WW2 (after the Spitfire) EXCEPT for the wings inboard of the engines. _______________________________ The artist formerly known as AllenInWV

Mosquito Squadron, David Macallum .... It was the engines, Merlins, that made that air craft a success, that and the innovative thinking of the British as far as its armament and use. Our P-51 was a poor fighter until the British installed a Merlin in it. If we had dumped the Allison the P-38 and even the P-39 would have been much better. 60

Yes, he is quite entertaining. I've been watching his content for a while and he's covered some very interesting things and some that I just kinda glossed over like the Berlin wall video. Not my cup of tea. If you go back to his early videos, there are several short videos under 5 minutes on different military units and several weapons and tech from WWI forward. He does quite a good job making his videos both entertaining and informative. A Perpetual Disappointment...

Fat electrician is awesome. The proportional Iran one is one of my all time favorites of his, I've watched them all. When I saw the post was about the mosquito, I came to post that video, but it was already the subject of the post. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Here's an excellent YT Mosquito article that does not require to be played at 75% speed....even after all these years, I still find the people speaking too fast kind of scramble my hearing up - a product of being brought up on four languages, only one of which was English. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTsnMKzmdWs

Tacfoley, I think it’s a generational thing, not your language upbringing. Some popular people on the ‘web who speak way too fast include Ben Shapiro; but most young people seem to speak way too fast for my easy comprehension. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"
