Huawei phone, what EMUI and Android version should it be running? Login/Join

Just read that Android 7 is alive and well and EMUI 9 or so should be used to take advantage of pods and other gizmos.

My phone is running Android 6.0 and EMUI 4.1.3 and suddenly they seem way obsolete.

Anyone in the know? My phone is a P9 Mate Lite BLL-L23

Thanks

I’m not positive, but I believe that the Huawei phone has been blocked from updating. Something about China and spies.
There was a thread here a while back that mentioned it.

Been keeping up with that but if my phone was left in the dust, it happened a long while ago. Too many versions behind.

Not sure the Huawei/Google/USG is effective already or if they granted a 90 days period before it becomes effective, thus my hurry.

I have 5 Huawei phones and I haven't updated any of them. They seem to work great out of the box.

If you have another Huawei phone, use Phone Clone to make a perfect backup and do the upgrade. If it sucks, do a factory reset and restore it using your other phone.

Honor 5x, Honor 7x (3x) Honor View10, and P20 lite

None of those models has ever been offered down here.

Would you please check what EMUI and Android version your P20 runs?

I remember a few EMUI updated a long while ago would have thought my P9s werexat least running current Android versions.
Huawei offered the P10 models but after that seems to have withdrawn from our market. Their main store vanished and the phone companies stopped pffering their products.
I've been to their Service store and their local catalogue never included their watches or earpods.
If I were to buy their earpods, it seems that I should be running a more current EMUI and Android to have all the features.

Google "security" is an oxymoron. I'd be interested in whether the battery life and data usage on the 7x has changed after the update.

At least the factory OS doesn't wake up in the middle of the night and send loads of data to some server somewhere like my wife's Samsung does.
