So what's your "new car" color if/when you are buying a car and can option the color from any standard color available for the model?

Shiney, bright red, white, black, color de jour, custom factory color (a la Porsche or BMW), or?

Personally, I prefer the subdued color. Something which doesn't look like it's the fastest car on the road when it's not moving.

Question:
What's your new car color?

Choices:
Whatever is on the lot with the options I want.
More shine, more better (black, dark blue, etc)
Easiest to look clean (white, silver, etc)
Brightest color (red)
Darkest color (not to be confused with a shiny color)
Most subdued (not the most obvious when in motion)
Or... (esplain)

I voted other because...

Pretty much whatever is on the lot at the right price with the right options.

However, I draw the line at white (too hard to keep clean) most shades of brown (just don't like brown) and it'd have to be a smoking deal for me to accept black (WAY too hard to keep looking decent). My idea of exterior car care is to run it through a car wash if it gets too grungy and there's no rain in the forecast.

I'd also avoid fluorescent colors. Don't mind bright (I've had red and yellow vehicles) but there's a limit.

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Last two cars have been red. Easy to find in parking lots, and stands out in traffic (less likely to get hit.)

Color has never been a factor for me. Most of the options I can add later.

My Tacoma is "Cement". It changes shades as the ambient light goes. Not a week goes by where someone comments.. something "like nice truck" What's that worth? in the pocket book nothing but it does make me feel good about my choice.

How so?

Have you never owned a vehicle? Do you not have a favorite color for a vehicle? Do you not know how to combine the two thoughts? Wink

I’ve had subdued and I’m pretty sure it would have been the death of me.

3 extreme avoidance maneuvers in 2 years. That is 2 more Than I had in the previous 30 years. It was like I was back on a motorcycle again.

I'm liking that color. Was in KFC the other day and saw one in the parking lot. Looked thru the customer base and figured who it likely belonged to and ask a young man what it was called, and he said Cement. Have seen the same on some Dodge Chargers and liked it there too.

My F-150 is a non-metallic gray: bumpers, door handles, grill, everything is body color or flat black. Interestingly, it's called "leadfoot". Hmmm...

I prefer darker colors. My current car is a metallic blue subaru. They must have had alot of that paint because it is a common color.

Before that I had a black pickup and a grey car

Yup. Seems to show up better when racing in the snow.
