Took a bit to post. It went to Rolex in Lititz, Pa. I think they did a good job.

Nice watch, slabsides48!

I e-mailed Dave about this watch when you first posted, but I haven't heard back from him yet. Used the contact from his profile. Is there a better way to reach him?

His profile should be good, but here's one of Dave's posts with his info, including his phone number:

Thanks, Tooky13. Yeah, that's the e-mail address I used, so I guess I'll wait for him to get around to it. I know he's pretty busy most days.

I have a few watches that I used to wear regularly.

I bought a pre-owned Apple watch from one of our SIGforum members.

Prior to owning it, I thought it was a fad-type gadget. Now, I find it tremendously useful.

I am hearing impaired and depend heavily on text messages for communication. I usually do not hear the notification chime from my phone when a message arrives; the haptic vibration mode of the watch is great for alerting me that I have received a text, and I can read the message on my watch without digging in my pocket for my phone.

Similarly, the watch notifies me about incoming phone calls, most of which are telemarketers or other types of spam / scam. I can see the caller ID number on the watch and tap "Dismess" to send the call off to never-never land.

The Apple watch is so useful that I rarely wear any other watch.

Citizen Pro Master diver in black. Got it from Dave Troung in ‘17 after my wife lost the same watch in blue after I handed it to her before surgery.
Started using these for everyday wear so as not to beat up, or loss overboard, either of my GMT Masters.

Wow, ya'll have some fancy, nice watches. A little embarrassed with mine but here's what I usually wear. Nothing special, I just like simple faces, high contrast with good luminous hands. Solar and/or atomic are nice features; I'm interested in an auto but can't get over the +/- 1 min per week (in my price range); I don't want to set the time every week.

Victorinox Swiss Army I got at a second hand store for $36 USD which included box, links and paperwork.

The Tissot PR200 Quartz I wore daily wouldn't keep running, sold it to a watch repair shop for what I paid. (Plastic motor)

The Tag Carrera 1887 and the Omega Seamaster remain on the winders.

Been wearing my Movado lately. Took it out of my watch drawer last week, after sitting for about a month, and it was off by 2 seconds! It's the most accurate of my 15+ watches.

I cannot remember, in the two years this thread has run, whether I posted mine or not, and a search (such as it is) says I have not. Here it is, one of the newer tech HAQ (high accuracy quartz, +/- 10 seconds/year):

G Shock Mudmaster. Great watch. Solar, dial lume, only lacks atomic time keeping but in real use it loses like a second or two a month so I can live without.

Seiko again. SKX007 on oyster band that didn't keep time worth a flip, but I sent it in and had it recalibrated, so now it "only" loses about 2 minutes a week.

I have a Dave Truong Citizen and a Dave Truong G Shock Mudmaster that are also in the rotation, depending on my mood and the tidal flow.

I wear an Apple Watch at work. I like that it lets me check my notifications without being obvious about it. Its really useful if I'm in the interview room and my partner needs to relay some information to me about the interview or suspect.

Other wise its usually either a Christopher Ward Trident 600 or the vintage C65 Trident.
