I used an outlet tester to make sure the outlet was properly wired.

Trying to understand what you are doing. are you grounding the mat to both the ground rod that you installed plus the 3rd prong house ground?

I would never install an axillary ground rod at my house unless it's tied to the main house ground with a very heavy wire, which is what NEC would require.

if you have 2 separate grounds that are not tied together, then you may create a dangerous situation. Imagine you have your feet on the ground mat tied to your ground rod, and then touch something else like an appliance in your house that's on the house ground. If there is a potential difference between the two grounds, then zap. That's why NEC requires the 2 be tied together with a heavy wire.

The mat will only be grounded to the 3rd prong ground of the outlet inside the house. The grounding rod I have 6ft in the ground is unrelated and I put that in many years ago for the ground of an electric fence I had around my garden. I planned to test the mat by doing separate tests.

The best thing you can do is to tell your Mom to stay away from the mat during inclement weather . As far as healing qualities go , that's for ya'll to determine .

Yes, I made sure to advise her of that.

So until the mats my mom and I bought came, I bought a cheap grounding strap off Amazon. I had to buy a multimeter that tested lower voltage, but basically the cheap strap reduced body voltage by about 50%. Today I was at my mom’s and we tested the mats she ordered and they reduce the voltage in your body by about 98%. We were able to test standing in different areas of the house with no mat to compare voltage and actually standing on her linoleum flooring was pretty good barefoot.

So I do think that a good quality grounding mat does reduce the amount of voltage in your body. The unknown will be does it actually benefit or “heal” your body. I will check via blood pressure over time and she will check against over 10 years of monthly cancer bloodwork.

If it doesn’t work, hey, we tried something and it wasn’t expensive.

We definitely know not to use in inclement weather. Pretty stupid the product instructions don’t state this.

AC or DC ? Volts or Millivolts ? Is your meter capable of measuring frequency ?

AC.

I obviously do not know anything near what you know about electricity; I sure wish I did. I am a criminal investigator, but not an electrician. I am going off what I have seen on videos and the fact I see the numbers on the multimeter go down when I step on the mat.

I would be happy to share the multimeter I originally tried to measure the voltage in my body and got no reading, which from what I read was because it wasn’t meant to measure that low, and share with you the second multimeter I bought. I would love to know if I am using them and reading them correctly.

I know this isn’t easy to answer for an amateur like me with something like this as there are so many variables. I specialize in getting confessions in interrogations, or determining a person is innocent. So I would compare this to if someone asked me if a person scratching their nose during giving an answer to a question was a deceptive response. I would have 100 questions and it would take me many paragraphs to explain the possibilities.

Thank you sir. I don’t care if half the stuff my mom does is just beneficial because she believes in it, but she is obviously doing something right. The mind is a powerful thing. She has well outlived what doctors said with what she is doing. I don’t agree with everything 100%, but I do support her 100% and I need to educate myself on what she is doing so I can make sure she isn’t being ripped off and also keep her safe.

Something like this I am willing to try myself so I can test it. I appreciate all input.
