I went with something else because politics influences what I watch and read but only in so much as it usually preempted the things I was interested in and I was forced to watch something else. I tend to avoid news and radio during an election cycle as well.
So...

If I have the option, I’ll choose it over buying Chinese and/or from culturally destructive sources. I don’t think 100% purity is possible, but I do the best I can.
