First paragraph:

"Netflix has secured a deal with former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama to produce series and movies for the streaming service. The former first couple will, according to an announcement Monday from the company, potentially work on scripted and unscripted series as well as docu-series, documentary films, and features under the multi-year deal."


From a business standpoint, a deal like this actually makes a lot of sense. I imagine that Obama stands to earn a very significant amount of money, and depending on what the deal is, Netflix also stands to profit handsomely.

I imagine I wouldn't have much interest in the types of shows Obama will likely produce, but they will definitely have an audience.

I doubt they'll actually do any production work. Likely, they're just licencing their name and maybe take part it in.
